Before Charley made the leap to television, they had a full career as a content creator for some of the biggest digital companies in the world including: DEFY MEDIA (Screen Junkies and Smosh), FULLSCREEN, MACHINIMA/WARNER DIGITAL, AWESOMENESS, SEVENTEEN MAGAZINE and SOURCEFED. They are also the co-founder of boutique, digital production company, CHICKBAIT. Chickbait was formed to better balance the scales of the male dominated, geek content landscape with content created and starring women and gender expansive people.
CHICKBAIT

CHICKBAIT was founded by myself and Clare Lourdes Schmidt in 2014. It was a boutique production company and team of female and gender expansive artists that specialized in original concepts, geek/gamer and creative branded content for YouTube and beyond. We have created branded content for LEGENDARY ENTERTAINMENT, VERIZON and UNIVERSAL PICTURES.

20 MILLION VIEWS AND COUNTING!
Kickstarted by fans, Truly Outrageous is a short film written and directed by Charley. It has been featured in Rolling Stone, Nerdist and Hornet.

SCREEN JUNKIES
Charley began their work with multi-Emmy Award Nominated HONEST TRAILERS and then later became head writer for SCREEN JUNKIES NEWS. They also appeared on camera as an expert panelist and MOVIE FIGHTER.
NUCLEAR FAMILY
Charley wrote the sketch, “The Most Lit Man in the World” for sketch comedy greats NUCLEAR FAMILY.
VERIZON GO90
Chickbait partnered with landmark gaming channel MACHINIMA to create MACHINIMA’S FYI for VERIZON GO90 (the first Quibi that ever quibi’d. It was a whiteboard animated show that explained pop culture in an almost entirely improv’d way. Charley not only created but was its showrunner. The concept proved so versatile Chickbait used it to do branded content for LEGENDARY ENTERTAINMENT and UNIVERSAL PICTURES.
SEVENTEEN MAGAZINE/ AWESOMENESS
Charley helped launch the Seventeen vertical for AWESOMENESS, producing and writing some of its inaugural content including an interview with Michelle Obama and 17 REASON TO LOVE MILEY CYRUS.
SMOSH
Charley wrote comedic articles, listicles and galleries for SMOSH PIT, the blog for SMOSH. They were also tasked to create a new channel based on Smosh Pit but moved to Screen Junkies before its eventual launch.
